Can do Continence! Award This award is an excellent way to acknowledge good practice in Disabled Living Centres and highlight what can be done to raise standards and, most importantly, make visitors to Centre's aware that independent continence management is possible. Perhaps you feel that you are not a 'continence specialist' and that you would not be eligible - but we want you to consider what you offer visitors to cope with the practicalities of living with bladder and bowel problems. It might be to do with accessible clothing, moving and handling, practical tips for traveling or simply the way you provide advice on dealing with this most personal activity of daily life. PromoCon are sure that many Disabled Living Centres are developing services and practice in response to the gaps and needs you are identifying. We hope you will take this opportunity to apply for this award which celebrates good practice in the Assist UK Network. The award was established by Helen White, PromoCon's first Team Director, who kindly donated the engraved pewter salver which is presented to the winner of the award for a two year period. |
