Working with Children with Learning Disabilitiess PromoCon in partnership with the charity BAG BOOKS, has developed 3 multi-sensory interactive storytelling resources to promote continence. I’m Too Busy (constipation in young children) - £55.00 plus p&p A story about constipation in young children, I’M TOO BUSY’ tells of one twin who is happy to drink all his fluids and eat vegetables and fruit , and his sister who is always too busy playing with her dinosaurs to eat those good things, and go to the toilet. One day when the dinosaurs were on display in the local museum, Lucy is not well enough to go. There follows a visit to the doctor who puts her on the right path. Lucy then determines not to miss other good days, and go to the toilet “when my bottom tells me to go”. Jack’s New Trousers (toilet training with teenagers with learning difficulties) - £55.00 plus p&p Jack is very keen to buy some new trendy jeans but, as mum points out, they will not fit over his pad. So he makes a determined effort to control his wee and to stand up to use the toilet. It takes a lot of practice, but Mum and the school nurse give encouragement and provide a musical device for the toilet, and a reward chart. Then one day Dad realises that Jack has been dry for some time and suggests that the jeans might still be available. Jack is delighted to find that they are, and also delighted that he can use the toilet just like his brother and Dad. The New Boy (tackling the taboo that surrounds bedwetting with junior age school children) - £50.00 plus p&p Mr Rogers has taken his class camping. As they prepare their beds, and in the course of conversation there is an indication that both David, the new boy and another pupil, Ian may have a problem. A gale during the night blows down their tent and during the clearing up process, two incontinence sheets are revealed. Ian, the most popular boy in the class, can only presume that he has put two in his bed by mistake. When David bravely admits that one is his, his burden is aired and shared and he soon become the centre of a happy laughing group of boys having a pillow fight!
