Working in Schools

Researching Teachers Attitudes towards Children with Wetting and Soiling Problems.

PromoCon is currently undertaking a major research project regarding teacher’s attitudes and issues in school relating to children with wetting and soiling problems. Results of this research will help direct educational packages for schools and resources for school nurses.

Developing Resources

PromoCon worked in partnership with Lancashire Education Authority to develop guidelines for Head teachers and staff. ‘Toileting/Continence- guidance notes for schools’ can be downloaded from this site.

We have developed:
bullet point Key stage 3 curriculum resources for teachers to bring continence issues into the classroom.The PromoCon Teaching Pack. Healthy bladder and healthy bowel, Incontinence and school toilets.

We are supporting:
bullet point The ‘Water is Cool in School’ Campaign, set up by ERIC – Education & Resources for Improving Childhood Incontinence.

bullet point ‘The Bog Standard’ Campaign, by sharing innovative practice with regard to school toilets set up by ERIC – Education & Resources for Improving Childhood Incontinence.

We are working in partnership to:
bullet point Encourage healthy bladder and bowels in school age children by working with health promotion departments.
bullet point Raise expectations of success or improvement in achieving continence
